KRABI
HOTEL AND TRAVEL GUIDE - KRABI
DIVE SITES
Krabi Dive Sites Information
Strangely
shaped limestone mountains and rock formations make the provinces
hinterland strikingly different from the low-lying palm and rubber
groves of the neighbouring regions. Krabi's people too, are strikingly
different with the dominant religion of the region being Islam.
You'll notice that the men wear the white pillbox hats and the
women dark headscarves. In recent years because of the growing tourism
industry there has been a substantial influx of northeastern Buddhist
workers as well as the increasing number of tourists themselves
making Krabi a fantastically cosmopolitan destination.
With access to some of the best diving destinations in the region,
Krabi's popularity as a resort and diving stop-over has increased
in leaps and bounds as a direct result of Phuket's ever-increasing
overcrowding, and is now
rated as one of the best regions in southern Thailand.
Ruggedly compact beach resorts such as Ao Nang and Reilay offer
the discerning diver and traveller (as well as the diving backpacker)
a variety of modern day conveniences, accommodation, offshore islands
and adventure activities.
